Resurfacing works planned for Smithton CBD

Council will be carrying out road asphalt resurfacing works in the section of Emmett Street located between King Street and Smith Street, Smithton on Saturday 1 April and Sunday 2 April.

Circular Head Council, in accordance with the provisions of the 2016/17 budget, intends to carry out road asphalt resurfacing works in the section of Emmett Street located between King Street and Smith Street, Smithton.

The works will be undertaken on Saturday 1 April from 1pm to 6pm and on Sunday 2 April from 8am to 6pm, subject to weather conditions.

During this period, Emmett Street, between King Street and Smith Street, will remain closed to all vehicular traffic. Pedestrian access will however be available to all property frontages for the duration of the works with two defined pedestrian road crossings points.

It is intended that line marking works will be carried out approximately one week following the resurfacing. These works would be completed in one day, weather permitting and will have some minor impact to street side parking availability.

Council will be sending out letters to all affected businesses and residents, emergency services and the Circular Head Business Group to notify them of the works.

Council thank you in advance for your patience with these necessary works and invite you to contact Council’s Engineering Projects Officer- James Brewer on 6452 4800 if you have any questions in relation to the above.
