Contractors are due to start work on the removal of the dome of the old Circular Head War Memorial Swimming Pool today.

This follows previous work including the bulk demolition of remaining out buildings and structures, removal of asbestos, the old pool liner and other equipment.

The next stage of the demolition process will be the remediation of the site.

The project steering group for the new Circular Head Community Wellbeing Centre held a meeting last week and Circular Head Mayor Daryl Quilliam feeling positive about the project.

“It’s progressing well, with the latest designs almost complete,” Mayor Quilliam said.

“Tender details should be out within a month for businesses to begin tendering for this long-awaited building.

“I am sure our district will be excited to see project started and will be thrilled with the end result.”
