Construction starts at Circular Head Community Wellbeing Centre

Construction has started at the Circular Head Community Wellbeing Centre in Smithton.

Circular Head Mayor Daryl Quilliam was joined by Braddon Liberal MHA Joan Rylah, local school children and other community members for the official turning of the sod on Friday 3 November.

The project is being jointly funded by the Federal Government ($3,822,750), the State Government ($3,500,000), and the Circular Head Council ($4,539,295).

Mayor Quilliam said he was pleased to see all levels of government working to deliver a facility that meets the needs of the community.

“This facility will provide opportunities for current and future generations to be fit, healthy and engaged in the community and in the workforce,”he said.

“The Community Wellbeing Centre will help us to attract and keep the people we need in our community to work, and grow our local economy.”

The Circular Head Community Wellbeing Centre is due for completion in November 2018.
