Unpaid rates auction set for Saturday 16 December

Unpaid rates auction set for Saturday 16 December

Circular Head Council will hold an auction for properties with unpaid rates in three rural areas on Saturday 16 December.

The historic mining town of Balfour will have 12 vacant blocks available at the auction, ranging from .0511ha to .2023ha.

These properties are offered for sale under section 137 of Local Government Act Tas.

Buyers will have the chance to own property in the Tarkine Wilderness of far North West of Tasmania, where you can enjoy camping, get back to nature or even try your luck at your hand at fossicking.

A further three vacant blocks are available in Plummers Road, South Forest, each with sealed road frontage.

If you are on the lookout for something a little bit different, the former Trowutta Recreation Centre is also up for sale.

Previously Council owned; the recreation centre includes existing clubrooms, which incorporates an extra-large kitchen, toilet and shower facilities, offering the buyer a huge range of possibilities.

This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to own a piece of history in the Circular Head area.

The auction will be held at the Council Chambers on Saturday 16 December from 10am.
