Circular Head Community Wellbeing Centre Community Update – Construction

Circular Head Community Wellbeing Centre Community Update – Construction

Stubbs Constructions have made significant progress on the Circular Head Community Wellbeing Centre since construction started on site on the 16 October 2017.

Construction Activities

Bulk earth works have been completed on site, and relocation of stormwater main and NBN conduit.  New carpark has been formed and works on the new site entries significantly completed.  Pool slabs are under construction.

Forward Work program

From now until March 2018 construction will be focussed on the swimming pools and tanks, other in ground infrastructure.  This work is critical to the final product, but will largely be invisible to the end user.

In May 2018 work is forecast on the construction of the buildings.

Access to the Sports Stadium

During December 2017 and January 2018 the following work will be occurring:

  • vehicle access arrangements from Nelson Street and the car park area in front of the existing stadium with a new bitumen seal.
  • internal building works in the existing stadium to strengthen and brace the roof so that it will support solar panels, and also to install fire detection systems and alter the security system.

Casual access to the facility will not be available during this period.  Basketball Club and other user groups will also be restricted from accessing the stadium during December and January.

From February 2018 onwards it is expected that vehicular access from Nelson Street and some limited number of on-site car parking spaces will be available and that casual access again be available.

Further communication will occur with user groups as the work progresses.
