Changes to fee structure for Montagu Park Recreation Reserve

There has been a change to the fee structure at Montagu Park Recreation Reserve from last year.

Campers will notice a small increase in nightly and weekly fees for camping sites. More significant changes have been made in regard to long-term bookings, with the maximum term to be changed from six months to three months.

Site fees for the 2018/19 peak season are as follows:
- $20 (per night)
- $100 (per week)
- $250 (per month)
- $600 (3 months)

To help facilitate this change, Council now requires a 20% deposit for any advance site bookings. This will be non-refundable and will be due within 14 days of the booking request. After 14 days the site will become available to other campers.

The camping fees have been set as part of Council’s 2018/19 budget process. The change is intended to give short-term visitors and the wider community greater access to the campground, while better recovering the cost of operating a caretaker-managed service.

Council will be holding a community information session in the Council chambers on Monday 13 August from 7.30pm-9pm.

The General Manager will provide a presentation for members of the public and take questions thereafter.
