Montagu Park – Delayed Start

As part of Councils planned maintenance for the continued operations of Montagu Park Recreation Reserve a number of large trees within the camping area were removed in October.

General Manager Scott Riley says “After removing unsafe trees a further examination identified that more trees were in need of removal.”

Due to this situation there will be a delayed start to the camping season at Montagu Park.

Council staff and contractors will remove further trees during the first week of November and complete further maintenance to make the site safe for campers to enter.

Council are in final negotiations with a new operator for the management of the camping ground.  Further updates on the camping situation will be provided next week.
