Resignation of Councillor Rodney Hardy

16 October 2015

Circular Head Mayor Daryl Quilliam announced that Circular Head Councillor Rodney Hardy has resigned from Council as of Thursday 15 October 2015.

Cr Hardy has made this decision due to health reasons.

“Councillor Hardy has been with Council since 2009 and had been a proud advocate for the Circular Head region during this time,” Mayor Quilliam said.

“Councillor Hardy was particularly passionate about Stanley and often made himself available to meet with ratepayers to discuss their various concerns.

“I wish to thank Councillor Hardy for his contribution and wish him and his wife Julie all the best.”

Circular Head General Manager Tony Smart has advised the Tasmanian Electoral Commission, which has indicated it will begin a recount of the 2014 Local Government Election for Circular Head beginning on Monday 19 October 2015.

This process is expected to take up to 10 days to complete.
