Council to call for tender submissions for operation of Wellbeing Centre

20 April 2018

Circular Head Council at its meeting on the 19 April 2018 resolved to call for tender submissions for management and operation of the Circular Head Community Wellbeing Centre.

The Circular Head Community Wellbeing Centre is a project being jointly funded with $3.8M from the Australian Government’s National Stronger Regions Fund and $3.5M from the Tasmanian State Government with the Circular Head Council funding the remainder of the project.

In calling for tenders for the management and operation, Council is looking to partner with an operator with the expertise to deliver program water based and other programs which contribute to community wellbeing.

“It is anticipated an operator will bring with them the skills, expertise and management systems but will be recruiting locally for staff to work within the facility,” Mayor Daryl Quilliam said.

“There will be opportunities created through the centre for local employment and people with skills and qualifications in life saving, aquatic education and health and fitness training will be sought after.”

The term for the operating tender is from centre opening until the 30 June 2021.

Tender submissions close on the 31 May 2018.
